On March 29, 2016, SkyEye Incorporation—represented by co-founder Matthew Cua—was awarded as Impact Hub Manila’s first ever Fellow, entering a 9-month incubation phase, and receiving over P750,000 in support. This is just the first of many serial training incubation programs that Impact Hub Manila intends to provide entrepreneurs and fledgling start-ups.
For the pioneer installment of Impact Hub Manila’s Fellowship with LBC program, we sought young innovators with entrepreneurial ideas related to mobility for a chance to win up to Php 1 Million worth of Fellowship prizes. The grand prize included a twelve month living stipend, access to seed funding, focused skill development, valuable networks, and a stimulating workspace at Impact Hub Manila.

PHASE 1: CAMPAIGN & APPLICATION
The application started from October 1 until November 15, 2015. During this phase, we invited everyone interested to benefit from an ideation workshop where they will learn how to conceptualize their idea with a clear business approach. From all applications received, 6 – 8 candidates were invited to a pitching workshop and later to pitch in front of a professional jury panel; where the 3 finalists were selected and who will then enter the cohort.
PHASE 2: COHORT
The cohort is an intensive 3-month acceleration phase. During the cohort phase the finalists ran through the business accelerator program called Kick to target the development of a full-fledged business model and/or prototype as well as other key competences and start-up skills. The finalists further gained access to a personal coach, valuable networks, and a stimulating workspace at Impact Hub. At the end of this phase, the Impact Hub Fellow was selected and who will now enter the incubation phase.
PHASE 3: INCUBATION
The goal for SkyEye during the 9-month incubation phase is to develop and test the prototypes, secure additional funding as well as customers and build a management team. During this phase, SkyEye receives significant seed funding as well as connections to peer entrepreneurs, coaches, and other valuable contacts. These relationships, combined with focused skill development and access to a vibrant community of change-makers in an inspiring work atmosphere, help facilitate the start-up of a thriving impact business.
