Pfizer Philippines Foundation is Impact Hub Manila's Health Vertical Partner

The Covid-19 pandemic has shed a light on where our health systems need improvement. Amidst this crisis, there is an opportunity for innovators and change-makers to work together to create a more resilient world. And so, ahead of the upcoming Impact Hackathon health vertical, Impact Hub Manila proudly announces its partnership with the Pfizer Philippines Foundation.

The Pfizer Philippines Foundation is a non-profit involved in the initiation, innovation, and development of sustainable programs that improve the health and wellness of Filipino families and communities. Their ethos aligns with Impact Hub Manila’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs as they create tangible solutions to real-world problems. Together, they are working to drive inclusive growth for all Filipinos.

From Thursday, August 26 to Saturday, August 28, Hackathon participants will hack public health in a 48-hour code sprint. This will be the third vertical of the Impact Hackathon 2021, following education and climate change. The Impact Hackathon comprises a series of thematic, non-stop innovation sprints. Teams work to create technology-enabled solutions in reaction to statements addressing the country’s most pressing problems. Because of the pandemic, the Impact Hackathon is virtual.

As part of the partnership, Pfizer Philippines Foundation will invite leading health and innovation experts to the health vertical learning sessions and ceremonies. This will give participants exclusive insights into what the world of health is like today and tomorrow.

The winning teams of each vertical receive cash prizes and incubation support from Impact Hub Manila. For the health vertical, Pfizer Philippines Foundation will be co-incubating the outstanding solutions of bright teams. Leveraging on their pertinent skills and wide network, the Impact Hub Manila and Pfizer Philippines Foundation collaboration provides an unparalleled incubation opportunity that allows health entrepreneurs to scale and succeed.

As the current pandemic grips the world, Impact Hub Manila and Pfizer Philippines Foundation understand that solutions need to effect long-term positive change. That is why the Impact Hackathon experience goes beyond the 48-hour code sprint, and even beyond the incubation period. From the moment they sign up, participants become part of a community of like-minded individuals and groups. The opportunities for participants are limited only by their own imagination.

Powered by Smart Communications and PLDT, the Impact Hackathon is the longest- and widest-running 5G hackathon in the Philippines. The Impact Hackathon is part of Impact 2050, a flagship program of Impact Hub Manila to create large-scale economic progress through the activation of groundbreaking events and curated support for innovators. This multi-year program will equip, enable, and empower innovative individuals who want to affect change through technology.
