Barnraising Asia Tour 2018 to Arrive in Manila on Sept 7
Tour event to cover the social enterprise landscape in PH and the B Corp Movement.
B Corp invites government agencies, companies, entrepreneurs, and students to attend.
Barnraising Asia Tour 2018, a multi-city roadshow led by the Certified B Corporations (B-Corp) Movement in Asia, will arrive in Manila on Sept. 7. It will take place at the Escaler Hall of the Ateneo de Manila University, from 9am to 5 pm.
The tour event will discuss the impact of social enterprise, its presence in the Philippines, and how B-Corp can change this business landscape. It aims to set the standard as to how social businesses start and scale.
Going Beyond Building Business Connections
Beyond forming connections and sharing knowledge, the tour event aims to:
kickstart the growth of B-Corps worldwide, particularly in countries where they either don’t exist or in places where they’re numbers are few,
familiarize local entrepreneurs and authorities with the B-Corp concept and how certification can impact businesses,
encourage collaboration, partnership, and idea-sharing on impact initiatives among local innovators and entrepreneurs,
present B-Corps as a market-driven public policy solution to government agencies, a rewarding investment target for entrepreneurs, and a critical and socially relevant subject for researchers.
The Barnraising Asia Tour got its name from incredible acts of interdependence in rural Europe and North America, in which communities work together to help their neighbors build barns by raising their frames. Everyone has a role to play.
The B Corp Movement in Asia was also inspired by the Philippines’ Bayanihan; Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia’s gotongroyang; Taiwan’s siong pang phuānn (相幫伴); and Thailand’s long khaek.
Don’t miss the chance to participate in the first ever B-Corp forum in the Philippines! Participation fee is PHP 500 for professionals. Students can attend the ground-breaking event for free!
